Shropshire Draft Local Plan

On 3rd September 2021, Shropshire Council submitted the draft Shropshire Local Plan (2016 – 2038) to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for examination under Section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) and in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The Secretary of State has appointed Planning Inspectors Louise Crosby MA MRTPI and Carole Dillon BA(Hons) MRTPI to carry out an independent examination of the draft Shropshire Local Plan (2016 – 2038). The purpose of this examination is to assess whether the draft Shropshire Local Plan (2016 – 2038) meets the tests of soundness defined in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) (explained in Paragraphs 35-36 of the NPPF) and meets all the relevant legislative requirements, including the duty to co-operate.
